Michelle LeBrocq

Senior Psychotherapist

Director of Perspective Psychotherapy Ltd

Perspective Psychotherapy Ltd is run by Michelle LeBrocq and has been established since 2000.

Michelle is a highly experienced and professionally qualified UKCP accredited psychotherapist employing an integrative approach utilising Psychodynamic Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Cognitive Analytical Therapy with an earlier background in Person Centred therapy. She recently worked on a part-time basis in the Merseycare Eating disorder Service providing clinical assessment, 1:1 Counselling/Psychotherapy and Compassion Focused Group work programme.

Michelle has worked in a diverse range of settings with both clients and families, within the North West Probation Service, Merseyside Alcohol Services and the Eating Disorder Service. As part of this work she has worked with individuals and groups with complex disorders and early relational trauma which has helped her develop her skills in assessment formulation and intervention.

In addition to the above she has provided brief occupational psychotherapy in relation to stress management, depression, anxiety, bereavement issues utilising the core assessment as an associate of Axa, Care first, Bupa and Health Care management. Michelle is a qualified supervisor and offers private supervision and has supervised both therapists and counsellors.

Michelle's main occupational health work is with Scottish Power PLC whom she has worked with for over 17 years to provide a psychotherapeutic service.

Based in Merseyside, Michelle has ran her own Psychotherapy/Training and Drama therapy Company for the last 20 years with a particular focus on early relational trauma, stress management, depression and anxiety management; where the primary source of stress can lie within or outside the workplace through an evidenced based treatment framework.

Michelle completed her Post graduate Diploma in 1996 and then went on to do an M.A. in Counselling research in 1997, to investigate the need for a Youth Counselling Service in the South Sefton Area. Michelle completed a Post- Graduate Diploma in Integrative Psychotherapy (UKCP accredited) in 2011 at The Sherwood Institute (affiliated to Birmingham University), this was a 4 year course. Michelle passionately believes that it is good professional practice for psychotherapists to be committed to their own personal development and that it is a lifelong journey. It was one of her reasons for attending the course; to enhance her psychotherapeutic assessment and formulation skills as well as her own personal development.

Michelle has also had contracts in the past with Merseycare and the DAT (Drug and Alcohol team) to provide specialist counselling to clients subject to a rehabilitation probation order. She has also gained counselling contracts with Merseyside Probation Service supporting their DRR order (Addressing substance related offending and rehabilitating offenders with underlying alcohol and drug problems), IAC’s (Intensive Alternative to Custody) programme. And finally, she was contracted with Resettle, a multidisciplinary team to facilitate a psychotherapy group once a week to clients with complex personality disorders.

In addition to this Michelle works privately providing 1:1 psychotherapy service covering relationships, personal growth, self-esteem, stress anxiety, depression and eating disorders. â€‹
